The U-ring features a symmetrically configured seal lip, suitable for single- or double-acting standard cylinders with piston rods or pistons. Its U-shaped cross-section gives the seal its name — the U-ring. It is widely used as a reciprocating seal in hydraulic, transmission, and cylinder applications.
